Morpheus says, "There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." We must possess the motivation to change. To walk the path requires courage and commitment to a stronger truth. Cypher's lack of commitment exemplifies the importance and power of this statement.
Neo succumbs to the fire power of the Matrix agent. Trinity then begins to communicate her love and belief in Neo as The One. Trinity represents what Carl Jung referred to as an anima figure and is the one who leads Neo toward the underworld. Jung called the anima a soul figure, one that occupies an area or boundary between the personal unconscious and the collective unconscious. The anima is also associated with a person's calling or fate, and is an alluring figure of the psyche. Trinity, as a "three" figure is incomplete. Jung writes, "the number three is not a natural expression of wholeness, since four represents the minimum number of determinants in a whole judgment." Jung believed that the number four represented wholeness in the human psyche. Neo is known to be The One (or if we were to re-arrange the name Neo, it would be the word "one"). The joining of Neo and Trinity (thus making four) by the symbolic kiss of love gives Neo the enlightened power of wholeness to transcend the Matrix rules of death and to overcome the Matrix agent.
